With shrove Tuesday just round the corner we’ve been talking about some of our favourite fillings here at Cultivate HQ . Here’s a few we thought we’d share:
Leek and Mushroom
We love our leeks at Cultivate and we hear that some of you do too. So if you’re a fan this filling is perfect for you. Just fry down the leeks with some garlic and onions and sauté the mushrooms in a separate pan, combine the two with cheese and butter and you’re good to go.
Lemon and Sugar
It’s a classic but it’s still a big favourite of ours and tastes super good with our organic lemons. If you fancy jazzing things up a bit why not try adding some poppy seeds to the batter and create a lemon poppy seed pancake? Or why not add the zest to mixture for an extra lemon-y kick!
Veggie Stuffed Pancakes
This one is a great dinner or lunchtime dish and so simple. Grab your fave veg ( we like carrots, squash, mushrooms onions and pepper) and roast in a little oil in the oven, then add to your pancake and top with cheese. For an extra herby kick, add two tablespoons of chopped fresh herbs (parsley and tarragon would be good), to the pancake batter before frying.
‘Baked’ Apple and Cinnamon
This is Katie our sale and marketing manager’s personal fave and if you love our Waterperry apples this one’s for you too. Take your apple and cut into chunks. Melt a little coconut oil in a glass bowl in the microwave then add the apple and some cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well. Cover the bowl leaving a gap for it to vent and then zap in the microwave for 2 1/2 mins. Add to your pancake and enjoy!
